Entre las cintas con más nominaciones, destaca The Power of the Dog con 12 oportunidades para ganar un Óscar. No solo por esto llama la atención, sino porque Jane Campion es la primera mujer nominada en más de una ocasión en la categoría de mejor director.
Steven Spielberg, por su parte, también estableció un nuevo récord como el productor de West Side Story, que obtuvo un total de siete nominaciones al Óscar. Con esto, Spielberg ahora es el productor de 11 filmes nominados al Óscar por mejor película.
